I'm running Win10 and have a WD MyCloud setup on my network. Obviously, the shares are network shares mapped to a drive letter. I want to scrub the free space and clean it up a bit but none of the programs I'm finding so far will even recognize a network share drive, they all show me the local drive letters. What can I use to accomplish this?

I suspect that no software will attempt to wipe free space on a network share becasue they are an abstraction - there is no way of knowing what sort of storage device is on the other end, or what will physically happen to any request to write to it, and thus no way of guaranteeing that anything is actually wiped.

I would remove the hard drive from it, connect it to a PC and perform the wiping process locally.
