i have radeon 7000. anyways, when i scroll documents, especially text with some graphics, it scrolls very slowing using the wheel mouse. so i have to use the scroll bars on the right to scroll manually but even using that i could tell it scrolls slow than normal. happens a lot when i scroll websites, forums, etc... this doesn't happen at all when scrolling .txt files. i updated the mouse drivers, but that did nothing.
also, when i use my 4200 in my same computer, i get no probs.
my question is is this normal for low performing cards? i think i remember having this prob with my gf2mx card but just not as often as the 7000. any users of crappy video cards get the same probs as me?? my 7000 has 64mb or sdram

Turn off smooth scrolling in IE. (edit) this issue seems related to cards with slow video RAM interfrace when using smooth scrolling.

The smooth scrolling tip is greatly appreciated. It solved a problem I was having with IE using up almost 100% of my CPU cycles when I scrolled fast, causing my MP3s to skip. Glad I finally got that solved. I hate those little "features" that are turned on by default and wind up annoying the hell out of you.

smooth scrolling seems to be a problem with ati cards; i read in another thread that people were experiencing all sorts of flickering when they smooth-scroll (i'm pretty sure it was with a 9500/9700 card). i guess disabling it fixes things, but really you should be able to smooth scroll with an r7000 card. maybe update your drivers...
