Scrolling my mouse causes system restart

very weird problem, any ideas?

I have tried 2 usb and 1 ps2 mouse, everytime I scroll up and down fast it restarts my computer, very weird. Any ideas?

That has got to be one of the strangest problems I've ever heard.

Since you've tried both USB and ps2 mouses, I'd guess it's a software problem. Have you scanned your system recently for virii? 😕

Are you using a third party mouse driver, or the builtin XP mouse driver?

You guys forgot one question....a very important one....

What application or applications does this happen in?

Applications typically don't have kernel-level software, which is what can crash a machine. Drivers do. 🙂

I have my Explorer mouse attached to a Hawking 2port KVM. Depending on the drivers installed on the PC connected, it causes weird behavior when scrolling. Typically, scrolling up will cause browser to go 'back' pages and down 'forward', and other odd behavior like that. With the latest intellimouse drivers for XP it's not really an issue, or if the mouse is connected directly to the PC it's not an issue.

Anyway, I imagine there are other problems here... does it happen in safemode?
