Scroll Wheel Minimizes Games ?? When used for weapon switching

I just replaced my Razer Boomslang with a Logitech dual optical. It works great but, When I use the mouse wheel to switch weapons about 65% of the time my games get minimized and I am looking at the desktop while being fragged :| (this happens in UT2003 and Battlefield 1942.

I tried it with my cordless optical and it does the same thing.

I looked around Logitech's website but it was useless.. I have the scroll wheel (button 2) set as Middle button in mouseware... Any ideas?? (other than binding switch weapons to someting else).

Ziptar, have you had the same issue when you don't use the LogiTech Mouseware? As an example, on my rig, wunning Win XP, when using the native XP drivers, I don't have any mouse issues; when I install MouseWare, it ain't fun 🙁 Hope this might help 🙂

I figured it out. I turned on "Microsoft Office Compatible Scrolling" and "Scroll in active window only" in mouseware and that seems to have fixed it.

How does it know to use an assigned button as one command in non game windows apps, but then give up that assigned command and use what's programmed in the game for that button? Does it normally do that?
When I played games w/ my Logitech Mouseman + way back, I was able to have the middle button assigned to close (Alt F4), for a nice quick way to close windows. And in games, it would do whatever I programmed it in the game to do. This worked for awhile but then it decided to stop doing this and when playing games, it would instead close the game when I pressed the button. Maybe started when I isntalled a newer version of mouseware? Not sure. I never figured it out.
Since Logitech quite making the better contoured style Mouseman +, I have an Intellimouse Explorer now, but haven't done any gaming in awhile so havent tested the above w/ it. Also trying to decide whether to install the MS Intellipoint software or not (on WinXP).
