Screwy problem with Win2k Pro and floppies...

OK, I'm having some trouble with Win2k professional. After installing it on my new rig, I shoved a floppy in to get some backed up data. All good. Took that one out, shoved in the next...it showed the same contents as the last disk, even though I know they were different. I tried a few things, could not get it to re-read the floppy. Hit f5. Didn't work. Manually hit refresh. Didn't work. Any ideas? Oh, and no "Why are you using floppy?" stuff, lets just get the problem fixed 🙂

Is the floppy drive window in the foreground? Pressing F5 will only refresh the foreground window.

Have you tried a 3rd diskette?

I'm sure it's something you're not doing....(99.1% sure anyhow).

We call these UKIE's....User Keyboard Interface Errors. 🙂

Good Luck!

Tried several more diskettes, no results. Tried one that came with the Win2k software, no results. Hit f5, no results. Someone on another board suggested I download the Win2k service pack, but I haven't had a chance just yet. Any other advice?

Can you read the correct contents in a command line? Maybe the drive is just dead if you cant get it to work in a command it might just be. Also try booting to a floppy without Win2k and see that works.
