Screwy NBC recordings on TiVo?

I just got my first TiVo a few weeks ago and everything is peachy except for NBC - the recordings come out really weird, like they've got Macrovision on them or something. If I watch the regular channel, it's fine, but if I record it, it's all kinds of crazy - fuzzy, wavy rainbow lines, that sort of thing. Do they have some kind of recording protection scheme going on? My relatives out west have the same deal with their NBC channel. The Office, My Name is Earl, Medium, House, etc., are all on that channel and they all look like crud, while all of the other stations look fine. Am I the only one or does anyone else have this issue?

Can you get some screenshots? Digicam at the TV will work

I record races on SpeedTV now and then. Watching the channel - looks the same. When I capture it to DV it looks like crap now, didn't used to. I wonder what they changed.

Better, here's a video: (500kb)

Just look past the big fat scanline (result of filming) and the moire effect; it looks funky 🙁

I have DirecTivo and record My Name is Earl without any issues.

Not sure why...

Did you try a tivo forum like Tivo Community?

My Tivo is fine on NBC. I record The Office every week and it looks normal.

Are you using the highest recording quality?

Edit: And House is on Fox, not NBC 😉

That's weird that it shows House on the NBC site. Even if you look on the right hand side where the listings are, you'll see "House (FOX)".

I guess they also play it on NBC here (CT). I think they have it on both channels, come to think of it.
