screws for mounting fans question

I was looking at the front cover of my case to see if it has a spot for a fan, and it has 2 sets of 4 holes making a square inside a square with a cirlular arrangment of holes between the 2 sets of 4 outer holes. (NOW theres an explanation) I think this is for two sizes of fans, pressumably 60 and 80 mm. Is this correct?

Also the holes are rather large in size, and in another post I was told thosse are special. They seem cheap enough to buy, but are they ALL the same or are they different sizes. Are they self tapping in the holes? Are there different lengths for different thickness of fans?

I have 4 computers and just want to make sure I get the right stuff up front, any help is appreciated.

It is probably for two different fan sizes. Some cases have this feature. If you know what your case is, it would be easier to determine whether the sets of holes are for two different size fans.

All fan screws are the same, and yes, they are self tapping. I don't believe there are different lengths.

Actually, the fans that hold the plastic bracket of the Antec 3700AMB to the back are shortened fan screws. First time I've ever seen that.

Interesting. Never seen any shortened or longer screws. I stand corrected.

in the past i used #8 stove bolts with nuts and washers to attach fans. i am using #6 now cuz i ran into some fans with smaller holes. #8 fits perfectly. #6 leaves room.
