Screwing Up A Harddrive

Lets say I install an operating system wrong. Is there a way to erase what I put on it, and then try to install it again.

Can you say "Format c:".

If you are using Win/XP, you can just put the operating system CD back in your CD drive, reboot the machine, and follow the instructions to perform a clean install.

buts its not the actual Windows XP cd, its just a cd-r from a "friend"

to be exact, its XP64

yeah, what he said. just delete the partition(s) you screwed up with, format them and yer off to the races. all accessible from your handy OS cd. xp pro is nice in that it includes those options (and many others) as part of the install.

just boot with the xp64 cd again and reinstall
