Okay. last night I was lying in bed, when my room mate was playing on my computer. Computer suddenly reboots, and randomly reboots everytime it gets to the login screen. I try system restore, nope no good. Then I rollback the video driver. Success. Weird things start happening in windows though, so I uninstall the driver, then install the latest catalysts. Unfortunatley I made the sad mistake of reinstalling DX9.0c (which had been installed earlier) at the same time as the drivers. DX9 installation stops at this certain point and says failed to write file. DX9 acceleration broke. So I try and install SP2, because I finally realize that the latest catalyst required SP2. No good. Same error as DX9.0C install, file could not be copied over.
Anyone know of a catalyst that supports DX9.0C that doesn't need SP2?
