Wow, lucky.. I would have assumed the worst.

Did you flush your coolant system well? I'm surprised your water pump was still functioning if it was that gooped up in there.

Yep, ran the hose into the heater hose for around 15 min with it emptying out of the radiator cap and drain plug. Looks like it is ok

Grew up driving a 73' CJ-5, it had a rod linkage/ball joint to the clutch & if you dropped a wheel in a hole, the frame would flex enough to allow the ball & joint to seperate, had to use the starter motor to crawl out of a couple holes to re-connect the clutch rod:D

Glad you're back on the road.

Saw a great looking Rubicon yesterday...

I really wouldn't consider that an Off Road Vehicle. That's more of a "Soccer Mom with 4 wheel drive to get out of the snow bank when she missed the turn while turning around to be the snot out of her ADD Child" type of Vehicle

Muahahahaha... It's very rewarding to find easy solutions to possible big problems.
You got that right!!
I'm happy to hear that everything worked out so well.

It's also nice to see some people that actually take their "Off-Road" vehicle of the road!

Sorry to hear about your Jeep. My 97 Cherokee has been giving me some flak lately. I had a tune-up done, replaced a bad upstream O2 sensor, and had the fuel system cleaned. All that work set me back, but seems to have cleared things up.

How do you like the Grand's? Have you driven one of the new Liberties? Before long I'm going to need to get a new car, and I'm trying to decide what to go with.

Ryan

I love my Grand for the comfort along with being original. I can run 33's on this setup and still have climate control, auto dimming mirrors, and power leather seats :D

Honestly, Libby's just do not have the Jeep feel. All Jeeps have a very stiff and unique ride and Liberty does not have this. There is a lot of animosity towards it in the Jeep community.

BTW, i did not come out worst today. Someone hydrolocked their engine :Q

Second that opinion about the grand being comfortable and capable. I drive a 2000 WJ (grand) and wouldn't trade it for anything. As far as Liberty goes - just look at it! :disgust::(:Q

Here's some vidoes which show the jeep's offroad capabilities.
