Screwed up my Gnome Terminal launch button

just got a linux box at work, Red Hat Enterprise Linux. I have used Linux some before, and one of the things I wanted to do was to edit the Gnome Terminal so that it would launch with my own colors and window size. I opened a terminal, and i think the menu was off of Edit. I went to "current profile" and chose my colors and then in one of the other tabs I entered what I thought was a good memory of what someone told me about last time I had linux. I added " --geometry 100x80" to what i thought was the command to launch, and closed the dialog. Well, now the terminal launches and disappears after about a half second. So I cant even tell you exactly which box I entered it in, etc.

I figure there has to be a file for the profile info that I can edit. I ought to be able to edit it in a text editor and restart. But I have no idea where such a file would be

Help for a dummie?

Thanks

Later I found that customizing the command with --geometry is to be done at the Properties for the launch button. Sigh ...

Open your home folder using the desktop icon. Under the VIEW menu, check the box that says "show hidden files".

You'll see a bunch of hidden folders appear (they all begin with a period). Open up ".gconf", then "apps", then "gnome-terminal", then "profiles", then "default".

Should be able to edit the file there or even just delete it and start over the next time you run terminal.

Cheers.
