I ordered an Ergotron LX arm from Tiger Direct two weeks ago.

Ergotron LX LCD Arm

After waiting three days for it to ship, I called their customer service and was told that their warehouse is "undergoing renovations" and the item wouldn't ship for another week. I asked to cancel the order, considering my credit card hadn't been charged and they refused, stating that due to the current situation with the warehouse, they couldn't cancel any orders. Their alternative was to ship the item and have me refuse the delivery, then it would be returned to them and they'd credit my card in "two weeks". Unbelievable.

I called two more times asking to cancel the order and got the exact same response. A week later, I put a stop payment on my credit card for Tiger Direct (still hadn't been charged) and e-mailed their customer service stating that I had requested three time to cancel the order, the card hadn't been charged and I made a point to mention a number of times that I put a stop payment on the card. I received an e-mail response telling me exactly what the reps told me on the phone.

Now, last Friday the order shipped, my card still hadn't been charged. No e-mail sent regarding my inquiries, only the Tiger Direct automated "congradulations fvcker, your order has shipped!"

The Arm is now sitting with the condo receptionist waiting for me to get off work. Still no charge for the arm, no phone call, no other e-mails, nothing. The arm wasn't paid for. I have a copy of the e-mail I sent stating that I requested the order be cancelled and that I put a stop payment on the order a few days before it was shipped.

Do I get a free $160 LCD arm? :)

Cliffs:
1. Placed order for monitor arm with Tiger Direct
2. Supposed problems with warehouse, credit card never charged yet item shipped
3. Requested order be cancelled due to extended shipping delays and was denied.
4. Now have the item I ordered which is not paid for (shipped days after I told them I stopped payment on the credit card)

No, they explained many times they could not cancel the order and that you should refuse delivery.

The ethical thing to do is refuse delivery (if possible now that receptionist has accepted), or to notify them to arrange pickup if not.

I didn't know how crappy they were until I dealt with them; entirely my fault for not asking around regarding their reputation :/

That! And why would you post it here? What if, and I say what if someone working there reads this post? And there you go.. get charged for the arm.

If you think you got a free LCD arm, why don't you put a stop payment for best buy and then go to the store and buy as many plasma tvs as you can fit in your car? Since you put a stop payment the charge will not go through and you'd have a truck load of "free" plasma tvs.

I'm not sure I understand how it would constitute "stealing". I called three times and asked to cancel the order. I put it in writing and clearly stated that they would not be paid for the item, a few days before it shipped. They still shipped it. They had ample time to cancel the order; doesn't seem to put me at fault.

Edit: If they call me and attempt to arrange a pickup I'll gladly oblidge, but considering I'm not at fault for their system and warehouse screwups, I'm not about to make the effort to contact them and spend an hour on the phone again. It's their move; if they don't take it then they're out an arm.

Sometimes you basically have to buy from TigerDirect. A friend of mine wanted a Chieftec Dragon and the only place that had the exact one he was looking for was TigerDirect.

Tigerdirect sometimes is the only place that carries some weird stuff. I usually end up not buying afterall when thats the only place with it. I almost ordered a via c3 from them a few days ago...but then I found one for sale cheaper on ewiz.com.
