The more I think about this the more I get ticked off so forgive me if I go off on tangents. Yesterday, I got home from a long day of work to find my cable television and cable internet out. I called Comcast to see if there were any problems in the area and apparently I am the only one with an issue.
Now, I had the same problem a few months ago. I live in a condo and share a split cable box (legally) with 3 other units. A few months ago someone had their cable canceled in order to install Dish or DirecTV. Of course, being the competent techs they are, Comcast picked the wrong cable (out of 4) to uninstall. Hey, no problem. The first screw up is free.
I am about 99% sure the same damn thing happened yesterday. Mistakes will happen and I am not trying to get anyone fire or get anything for free. I just want to know why I have to be at my house for them to come and hook my cable back up. It was not a problem for them to unhook it when I was at work so what is the damn difference? So, now I get to spend 4 hours of my Saturday afternoon waiting at the house for a tech to show up and screw in a coax jack. Gotta love it, eh?
I would switch to Dish in a second if I could find some way to replace my cable modem. It just sucks so bad because Comcast can continue to screw up my service and I can do nothing at all about it because I have no other similar options. Oh well, weak half-awake /rant.
Cliffs:
1) Comcast screwed up and disconnected my cable again on accident (yes, AGAIN)
2) Get to wait for 4 hour window for a reconnect even though I had a 0 hour window for the disconnect
3) Dish is a replacement option but nothing replaces the cable modem so I can't complain with my wallet.
4) I suck at ranting.
