Ugly. Why buy that for $100k, when you can get an xB for $14k?

I'd rather have the Cayenne please.

Dude, that G-Class is the ultimate UBER-tank. Makes an H2 look like a fuggin' Honda Accord off-road :D

Ever sit in a G-wagon? Sat in one at the "I Love Mercedes" event just a few weeks ago. It's really really UGLY and small inside. Pictures don't prepare you for the reality of the interior. They just don't.

That being said, it's still very fast. :)

The Cayenne Turbo is still probably faster though, and increasingly more so as you pass 60.

There's just something about the extreme gloss and boxiness of the G-Wagon...last week Thursday as I was driving home from Woodward, I saw two parked next to my workplace. It was a thing of beauty.

lol....I like the look. And ugly or not, those are some intense off-roading capabilities...

bah, gimme a car.

If i were thinking off road, i'd pick up at 90's short bed C/K, or a CJ7..

EDIT: but hey, if i had 100k to just spend for no reason, i'f get one for a sleeper..

imagine racing and beating a Turbo Civic in a box with wheels

man, wheres rbloedow. He should be busting a nut all over this. :p

I've seen more than my fair share of these where I live and I have to say that they have ugly attractiveness to them. But I'd really just like to see one of the yuppie trophy wives driving them take a turn to fast and tip it.

I rather have a Range Rover, German engineered with British ruggedness. If I want to go fast, I'd buy a sport car, not an SUV.

i'd personally take the Brabus CL65 over that for the same price.
Power bhp (kW) at RPM: 612(450) / 4800
Torque lb-ft (Nm) at RPM: 738(1000) / 2000-4000

eh, I'd rather have something that can turn, like a CAR. Those things are just proof of the old axiom that you can make anything fast if you throw enough money at it.

the looks of the real off-road cars changed very little in the last 25 years - the new G-Klasse looks almost just like the G-Klasse from 1985, and I suppose the original G-Wagen looks no different. This shows that people likes that "beasty" look, and that the perceived needs for the off-roaders changed very little.
All those told, I think I would prefer a Hummer H1 with a turbodiesel engine. I like the "lower stance" (well, wider body) - even considering its bigger mass (weight)
