that wasnt even that damn clever. That was just retarded.

you're retarded. or french. dunno which is worse.

Besides refusing to kill people, what have the French done to you, honestly?

Refusing to kill people? Wow, you obviously don't know much about the French control on the African continent do you?

I'll list one recent incident, just to inform you.

September, 2002, a failed coup in the Ivory Coast endangered French business interests. Chirac decides to send a moderate number of the Foreign Legion's "Paras," as peace-keeping troops, who were ordered to shoot anyone who "may obstruct them." That seems a rather broad directive to me, and, surprise, an increased report of civilian "murders" were reported that month.

Hahahahahahahaha. Pot. Kettle. Black.

Oh, boo-hoo...they're lucky we didn't saw through their fvcking necks. There's a difference between harming military POWs of an "army" that fails to abide by the Geneva convention, and civilians of an Ivory Coast village.

Aren't we supposed to set a good example? Isn't our involvement in Iraq for peace-keeping purposes? Yet we ourselves break the Geneva convention with a sledgehammer. Your existance is so hypocritical it's almost a parody of itself.

How can you write that off as deserved? How can you as a human being see those images and say it's ok because of a fvcking technicality in a man-made law? How can you support a country who flaunts that in someone's face yet breaks the same rules it self forth decades ago just because it suits them at the current time.?

I swear I can smell them, even over New Jersey.

Hey, you know, they don't refuse to kill people, they refuse to fight for their own lives. Ergo, I can make fun of their lack of cojones. Or, le cojones, since they're frogs. 😉

Is it such a crazy idea that some people don't view the world the same way you do? Are they not allowed the 'freedom' to choose what they want to? I don't see how as an American you can condemn someone as a lesser form of life because of their decision not to die in a battle they surely wouldn't survive.

Dude chill the fvck out. This thread was about a joke, why do you feel the need to turn every thread about the french into a P&N debate? Damn some of you people need to get out and experience real life...err strike that you might not make it 10 minutes if you can't take a joke.

I'm perfectly chill. I've experienced life, how dare you imply otherwise because I won't sit and watch ignorance spread like wildfire. I can take a joke, I love jokes. This however isn't a joke. You laugh at racist and country-specific jokes but you don't take them to heart. There is QUITE a difference.

Because, unlike you, I can understand what war is, and what war requires. You existence is to live in a country exercising rights that you have because there are people who understand war. I don't care if we're "supposed to set an example," there are no rules once you are out there in the field. It's kill or be killed, and if some torture is needed to extract information that could prevent the deaths of other innocents or friendlies, so be it. You're free to your opinions, I won't attack those, just realize why you are free to have them.

To tell you the truth, whether you deem this disgusting or not is your own prerogative, I find nothing disturbing about those images. I simply see them as what the reality of war is, and what it requires. Deciding whether or not this war is justified is, again, your own prerogative. However, we are in a war, and these things will happen.

It's nice to sit at home and preach about how we should "set examples" or "treat them with dignity" or "try to find a peaceful solution," but take that out to the field and preach it. See if the opposition even cares that you don't want to fight them.

But, as I said, you are free to your own opinion. I have stated mine, though I question whether I should or not, and now I am through.

Your point is moot. I decline wasting my keyboards life to create a proper rebuttal.

Heh... actually there are rules for war, and they were written in part by us. You cannot say anything that will justify anything contrary to that fact. As far as the rest of your post, you are indeed free to have your opinion on the subject.

And yet you waste your keyboards life to create a pointless statement? Everyone's point is moot, everyone's view of the world and its happenings is opinionated. What's your point?

Who's there to make sure the rules of engagement are followed? The rules were written by politicians to make the masses happy...they don't apply in a real life scenario (unless it would cause an incident that the media would pick up), and only when the media gets ahold of the situation does punishment happen.

Listen, anus. May I call you anus? If I really wanted to state my opinion in this thread and stand on firm ground I think I would have to type 100 times more than that SINGLE SENTENCE. Obviously from your posts you are god. And god is infalable. So god I do not dare to oppose your wisdom. Also I am done. Arguing this does not prove anything. I will not return to this thread. Good day sir.

Given what he was replying to, I'd guess he was referring to the Geneva Conventions, not the "rules of engagement." And the Red Cross for one at least attempts to ensure that prisoners are treated well. Aside from that, you treat prisoners well because you would hope to expect the same from your oponents, it's about being civilized. How can we complain that Iraqis murder American soldiers they have taken prisoner, when Americans murder Iraqi prisoners?
