I may have missed the boat on this one but I swear I have watched netflix since their crap has gone down. No worky right now. It works fine via a browser. Damn them. This is making me wish I would have renewed my live subscription. Off to watch the show via a 15" screen and notebook sound.

Sony has become synonymous with Fail. They have become an evil company and we should avoid buying their products.

question, do you have ATT U-Verse? I occasionally get completely unplayable content from Netflix for a day or two, then back to normal.

I still haven't checked it out, but I bet the jailbreaks released would have some sort of proper internet browser that you could watch Netflix from without having to sign in to PSN.

I don't know why it isn't working but it isn't. It's not a account problem because it works fine elsewhere. It's certainly a PS3 problem. That fact that it says there problem with communicating with the Playstation Network tips me off.

Netflix on the PS3 would not work for me either a day or two ago. From what I have read online elsewhere, it only works some of the time for some users. Works just fine as usual on my Xbox however, definitely a Sony PSN problem but according to Sony PSN is still down and netflix should not be working anyway.

A prompt will tell that it has to sign in to PS3 network, click sign in anyway and it will tell it can't, ignore it, hit the back button, it will ask you again, hit sign in and it will tell you that the PS3 network is down again, hit the back button again, Netflix should be on now. Takes a couple of tries but always ends up working.

Just bought a PS3 three days ago. Still waiting for its awesomeness to grace my post office.

Netflix works fine during the outage. It wasn't working one night this week for me but that was Comcast not them. It's probably your ISP as well.

I've been using PlayOn to get netflix on my PS3.

Random question...why does netflix streaming look like shit? I have an awesome 46" Samsung LCD and the HD streams look way worse than cable TV. I'm streaming using wifi...think it would improve if I directly connected the PS3 to my router?

Either your internet speeds suck or you have low wireless speeds, mine looks great

10mb from Time Warner. It's definitely the slow wireless G killin it for me.

Well you could still be getting a bad connection and of course it's going to look worse because they have to compress it even more than cable does. 1080p streams still look pretty good though.

I would like to point out 2 things:

1. Netflix is independent, it works without PSN.
2. It is not Sony's fault they got hacked.

1. Yes, but you have to be authenticated to PSN prior to accessing netflix. Netflix on the PSN is NOT working as it was before PSN was brought down. Sure for some users it will work after the "three tries" method, but for many it simply does not work at all.

2. Are you sure it isn't Sony's fault? Have you read up on the sheer amount of incompetence Sony has displayed in their design and maintenance? They were running unpatched servers, no firewalls, etc. Tons of examples where the most basic of netsec best practices were ignored.

It seems like you are saying Sony holds no blame for any of their recent problems.

Like we've already discussed before, the servers WERE patched to the latest version. Some guy just made that up. As for the firewall one we still don't know that 100% as the same guy who made up the old Apache thing said the firewall thing as well. It's not their fault they got hacked. It's like saying it's your fault that someone hacked your computer.
