Screw paying apple to answer ONE question

I want to import movies in it, but they're not HD movies. They're just mpg and mov format in standard definition. I used to be able to do it but now I can't for some reason. I even used Stomp to make it into a large HD movie made specifically iMovie. I can't import anything through drag n' drop and I can't do File > Import Movies unless it's that large one.

How do I import just regular movies to edit?

You need to convert it to .dv format. Use visualhub or whatever it's opensource version is to convert it.

What version of iMovie? I'd try the .dv format, but regular .mpg and .mov should work just fine. I do it all the time.

I think it was a one-time thing, for some reason, because now it's accepting all of those things. Before, it didn't. We'll see what happens.
