SCREW Palm/Visor: 3Dlabs Developing 3D Accelaration for Windows CE .NET

Actually, I don't think that the .NET device in question is a handheld formfactor. It's more like a thin-client, ala Oracle's NC. The 3D labs feature will enable 3d rendering dumb-terminal workstations.

You're right that as technology moves on, some of this will trickle down to the handheld space, but the laws of physics only allow for so much processing capability with limited power. At least using current CPU concepts.

.NET products/services for PocketPC will be sweet.

I recently played a bit with .NET Compact Framework. Pretty cool stuff, but I wish the CPU had more power.

I haven't yet had a chance to play with Windows Embedded products, but hopefully I will have a chance soon.

Oh, and I need X-scale. 🙂
