I'm thinking of getting this motherboard also, I'd like to get something a bit higher end, but looking at price to value it's really hard to beat that board =\ Hope I can get as close to 4ghz as possible.

Just wondering, what do people need a 4Ghz Core i7 for?

We need a reason? Actually to be honest, I like the trial and error of overclocking. Messing with settings and what not getting it just right. I'm not a big benchmark whore, I just get a kick out of tinkering.

I struggled between this and p55, but figured I'd hit MicroCenter for a $199 i7 920 and go x58 for just a tad more money.

Then later today I grabbed an i7 920 "DO" on ebay for $255 shipped with $20 CB. The MC deal would be $215 with tax, and it was an hour drive each way. I'm happy for $235 and never left my chair.

Any 3x2gb deals out there?? Should I go for DDR3-1600??

at least 1600, 1800 is better for more oc headroom.

I made the drive to MC. It's like 45 minutes each way for me and came out to like 215 after tax. Paid like the same as you with gas factored in. I'm cool with it though. I'm thinking of grabbing a DDR3-1600 kit, probably the patriot since I've had good experiences with their memory in the past or a G.Skill kit because also good experiences.

LOL. Same here.

Also, 1333 MHz ram is good till about 223 BCLK if you use the 6x. More if your kit overclocks well.
