Do you have MS Office installed?
If so goto:
C:\PROGRA~1\Microsoft Office\Office\Shortcut Bar\Office
and copy "Screen Saver.lnk"
Which uses the commandline:
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\OSA.EXE" -s
According to
Here it will work with just a shortcut to the *.scr file, and still keep the Password protection.
However, I tried using just a shortcut in NT4sp6 and it doesn't work.
Hmmmmm Kept hunting and found this:
"If you have enabled a password for your screensaver, the password only works if you double-click your default screensaver. If you choose another screensaver (which is not your default, set in Control Panel - Display), the password is not active."
This Page Has some kewl info on enabling your ScreenSaver at startup and hiding your ScreenSaver tab in display properties, etc....
Here's another
link for enabling PW Protection for a shortcut to a *.scr.
