Screens freezes every 5 seconds, TNT2 M64 Vid Card

Hello everyone,

I have installed an Asus 3800 video card powered by a TNT2 M64 processor and my screen freezes every 5-6 seconds (for maybe a second or two), even if i'm only in Windows. I noticed that when a sound eing played during the lockup, I can hear a humming noise from te speakers. Here are my system specs :

Asus CUV4X mobo
128 Megs PC 133 SDRAM
Asus 3800M video card
Microsoft Intellimouse

I have installed the Via drivers that came with the mobo CDROM but it didn't work. I tried installing newer drivers for my video card and il didn't work either. I downloaded and installed the most recent 4in1 drivers from Via but to no avail. I tried the same with NVIDIA's newest drivers with the same result.

I mentioned the mouse I'm using because I read ina post that someone had a similar problem and that changing the mouse resolved his problem.

Anyone has any idea what's happening ?

Thanks for a quick reply !
