Any ideas on what to try and adjust? I am using 680 GTX and the game is running in full screen window mode.

I need it on so I can freely move the mouse pointer to other monitors and interact with programs on them.

Well Vsync only works when the game is full screen

This is not correct. Vsync does work in fullscreen windowed, as I play in full screen windowed.

I use adaptive vsync in the nvidia control panel. The ingame vsync option ONLY works while fullscreen, to enable vsync you must do so in the nvidia control panel. Make a program profile for WoW in your nvidia control panel, or make a global option with adaptive vsync / vsync on. This will enable vsync even in fullscreen windowed.

Fullscreen mode for WoW sucks because the screen blacks out for 3-4 seconds while switching between the desktop and the game. With fullscreen windowed, it is instantaneous - and you can also view your desktop at the same time with multi monitor (on a different screen). Since skype, streaming and mumble are pretty integral for many wow players (including myself), fullscreen windowed is the best mode to play it with. I can't imagine using fullscreen for WoW, ever.

I was just going to say, set vsync for your game in the nVidia control panel and it will work and work well. And I agree, the biggest benefit for me is the alt-tabbing speed, makes a huge difference.

I can vouch for Vsync capable of functioning in windowed mode in WoW. Hope setting it in control panel works out for you.

I run a 7950, it worked without any manual adjustments.

Also worked without tweaks when I had a GTS 450, so either a driver quirk or a consequence of dynamic vsync.

Checked for anyone who might have vsync issues with a Radeon: AMD's Vision Engine Control Center in the gaming profiles section lets you force "wait for vertical refresh" by application.
