Screen size shrank, windowed around blackness

Hi, I have an old laptop that has this problem. It boots to XP, but the window is small, where you can actually use windows. The rest of it is a black area where my mouse can't even scroll to. Basically my field shrank. Does does the same thing. What to do?

Change the resolution? Try 640x480 or 800x600.

And/or update the video/LCD drivers.
