Screen saver is freezing, not sure why.

I usually leave my computer on all day and night. Lately it keeps freezing on the screen saver. I know there is a issue with Windows screen savers (if I recall something to do with 3d rendering) I corrected my setting as suggested from Microsofts web site and it worked for a while, but know it is freezing again. Any one have any ideas? I just installed the updated drivers for my 6800 GT card and wonder if that caused the settings to go back for the screen saver 3d rendering? Thanks again everyone!!!

I know this does not solve screen saver problem, but why don't you have your monitor just go into power saving/blank mode after a set period of time. This way you get the benefit of saving your screen plus saving a few pennys on electricity.

Thanks for the response wpshooter, thats what I am doing now. I have my screen saver set to 10 minutes and it usually freezes with in that time. I have my monitor set for 30 minutes for it to go into sleep mode. I'm somewhat anal as far as issues on my PC, like to try and resolve them if possible. Will most likely either disable the screen saver.

does it freeze on all screen savers? don't know but wonder if your new drivers are requiring the thing to use more ram.

Do you have all Microsoft patches including O/S type applied ?

If not I would do that, if so, I would try going back to the previous video card driver and see if it behaves with that version.

Yes it freezes on all Microsofts screen savers. I have 2 Gigs of memory so I cant imagine its a memory issue.
You've run Memtest on the machine and it comes up clean, right?
