screen saver/energy preferences

does anyone know where this is stored on the system? I'm not talking about the system preferences pane, but where it might be keeping it's settings in the file system.

What setting are you looking for exactly? That would help a lot more. Just look through the /Library for the plist you need.

anything that would remotely deal with the screen saver settings, the password settings for coming back from screensaver/sleep, sleep settings (system and monitor)...

I'm trying to figure out why it won't listen to my settings. Trying to pinpoint if it's a hackintosh issue or not. it was working fine, didn't work, worked, didn't work.... all w/o any system updates of any sort. my cloned copy works too.

all this on top of my real imac not going to sleep at all. found out if i left firefox open, it would never go to sleep. i have no idea why it started doing that.

Sounds more like a Hackintosh Issue, but look where I said. /Library/Preferences/ and /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration.

Also, I can't say about Firefox. None of the 280+ Macs I work on are set to sleep, ever. We're working on a power management plan to put them to sleep at 12:00am and wake them up by WOL around 6am. Firefox may just have something that keeps the Mac active enough to not sleep it.
