Screen Resolution

on my sisters computer all of a sudden, the screen resolution only allows 16 colors, no programs or pictures can be accessed because of this (they need 256 color) how do i get the 256 colors back? please help!

Assuming nothing happened to the video card, right click on the desktop and choose properties, then the last tab is settings, go there and adjust the colours.

try rebooting your comp. If you still can't change the resoluton, check to make sure your monitor and video card drivers are installed.

i have done both of those things and yet it is still fvcked up! :|

are you able to change the resolution at all? If you can, change it to anything higher than that, then reboot. Did you check to see if the drivers for the monitor and video card were installed?

yes i have done that, and no it wont even let me change to anything higher, it wont even allow me to change the less screen space or more part.

Go to the settings tab of the display control panel. What does it say under "Display"? (under the picture of the monitor)

I just bought a brand new video card, well i didint my sis did, didint have time to screw around it wurks fine now
