ok, i have a pc that i changed the resolution on and it is outside the range of the monitor and its not auto-switching back. i tried booting in safe mode with networking (but that is just windows networking) and can reset the res back down there but when it reboots into normal mode it is visible until you login to the novel client. so i think something with the novel client profile is loading the bad resolution settings. any idea how i can change this back to a lower/default resolution?

Well, you could always uninstall the video drivers, and then reinstall them. You could try going into "vga" safe mode. Have a bigger monitor you could hook up? One of these should work.

well, there is no internet connection in safe mode and i don't have the drivers to reinstall them so they would have to come from the web. We were using safe mode, and i am not aware of any special "vga" safe mode, if this is something other than just regular safe mode please fill me in. No there are no other monitors available to plug in, and a bigger monitor is not necessarily going to be compatible with the higher res.

What version of the Novell Client is installed? I'm not aware of any settings internal to the client that would enforce display resolution, but it is possible to push something down to the workstation via login script, group policy, ZENworks, etc. After resetting the resolution in safe mode and rebooting, does the PC boot to the Windows desktop, Windows login prompt or Novell Client login prompt? I'm just trying to figure out the process you're using to login. If the PC boots to the Novell Client do you have the option to login via "Workstation Only" (it would present as a checkbox on the login window, tho it may be restricted).

Since Novell components are involved i'm going to assume this isn't a home PC. :) Have you contacted your support staff for their take on the situation?
