Screen replacement with higher resolution panel

The display on my mom's old Compaq laptop died, so I need to replace it. Problem is, the only panel I can find for this model that's in-stock anywhere is a 1680x1050 panel, and the laptop shipped with a 1440x900 panel.

Will this be a big problem?

Laptop is a Compaq Presario A900 (A931NR). About 6 or 7 years old.

Would this be a candidate?
Google Used A931NR screen. Amazon has one. Apparently it is a 17-in display.

Yes, it has a 17" display. I would really like to not get a used one. Laptopscreen.com has both, but the higher resolution matte finish panel is significantly cheaper than the one it came with ($90 vs $160).

Ebay is an efficient source for older computer parts. Ebay has several screens at 1440 x 900 for around $70. Some are used, overstock, or new replacements by various companies and from various countries. The ones I saw at 1440 x 900 were all glossy.

I've had reasonable success buying on Ebay, but YMMV!
