I just bought a Dell Vostro 1000 and want to replace the screen with a WUXGA panel (like this one from eBay).

My question is, should this process be close enough to this guide for the Vostro 1500 to figure out on my own? I've put together computers but otherwise have limited experience. Also, will that panel work for sure or do I have to get the model off the older screen? I might use this one. Thank you.

If it aint broke don't fix it.

If your going to do this make darn sure that panel is compatible with your laptop. AS you taking the system apart be very carefull. Its easy to mess something up if you don't take it apart correctly. WOuldn't want you to tear up on of the delacate ribbon cable on the inside of hte unit.

But this all seams rather pointless. I'm pretty sure the screen that came with your unit is a WUXGA screen.
