OK so this is a bit quirky but very annoying problem.
Every time I right-click on any video file (.avi, .mpeg, .wmv) the display adapter redraws the whole screen. This does not occur on other tile types such as when I right click on .jpg and .txt etc.
Upon further testing I discovered that if I use the keyboard shortcuts for the functions on the right-click menu such as CTRL+X for CUT and CTRL+C for copy the screen also redraws (again only when I use these keyboard shortcuts on the above mentioned video file extensions).
This problem also occurs in different screen resolutions, refresh rates, and color depth so I have ruled out the possibility of my display settings being set too high.
I am running windows xp. I do not have service pack 2 installed but I do have all available critical updates. Directx 9.0c. I am using windows media player v9. My video card is a Geforce FX 5700. I had the 56.72 drivers so I thought maybe a video driver update would help me out. I uninstalled the nvidia software completely prior to installed the newest drivers and the problem is still happening.
Any ideas?
