My monitor says "monitor is working, check computer signal"

This is the same thing it says if the computer is not turned on. HOWEVER, the computer is still on and working. It happens randomly.

I'm thinking somehow my video card is messed up. Like it's reaching a critical tempature and shutting down. Thing is, NOTHING has changed. I'm running a 7900 GS about 3-4 months old, and it's never given me a problem before.

Is it time for a new video card? The connections are perfect btw. Card is seated perfectly and wires are 100% secured. I am using the same monitor on my other computer right now with 0 issues..
 
It's a 21" trinitron i've had for about 7 years now with 0 issues

Also, like I said it's working 100% fine on this other computer now, and it was working for 3-4 months fine on the computer in question as well.
 
Maybe it's going in standby mode and immediately getting out of it, or something. If not, driver issue somewhere, and no idea where to go from there.
