I seriously have no clue so if you can fill in the blanks for me or point me to a informative website that would
be great.

Why do people even bother witht he TV when they can just buy a projector and some speakers? I see no reason to invest in a huge ass when you can get a portable projector for a little more.

Because front projection is far more sensitive to ambient light. In other words, for a front projection to be viewable, you need complete darkness. Rear projection is not so sensitive to ambient light, and can be viewed in a room with light, or daylight coming in the windows.

but, on the upside, front projection is much cheaper, portable, and you can make it as big as you want. :)

It completely and totally depends on ambient light. Watch front projection with any light in the room and you'll see why.

Except for the replacement bulbs which can cost a fortune. But I agree otherwise. I've got an OLD Runco projector in basement office and I love it. Whenever it dies I'll probably replace it with another front projector because I've gotten spoiled to being able to have a monstrous screen like that.

oh ok, I look forward to setting up a front projecting in my basement with an 'OK' 32inch TV in living room :).
