what possibly could be the problem?

If a mobile phone is interfering with your monitor, this would imply that your monitor lacks proper shielding. You could have speakers near the monitor, or you could have some cables running around your monitor or parallel to your video cable.

or you could simply have the refresh rate set to something less than 75Hz
