Screen printing numbers on a basketball jersey

I have some nylon (basketball jerseys) that I would like to screen print numbers on. Would the HP Iron on Transfers work for this application?

How about a printing a stencil and using fabric spray paint?

Just spend 50 bucks and get it embroided. Looks much better

Pick your font & size then print it on a sheet of paper. Cut the outline of the print to make a stencil and use fabric spray paint to make the shape, then Iron it after it dry to set the pigment. Can use any spray paint, or use a tooth brush & brush it on a metal screen (2-3 inches above the cloth surface) that is loaded with pigment to apply the design.
