screen goes blank after leaving computer on

when i leave it on overnight sometimes the screen just goes black. when i try logging off it doesn't make the logoff sound so it seems like it's not even running even though the fans are all on. i don't know what else to say.

i have logmein running in the background. not sure if that does anything with the graphics.
 
I believe I've had this happen to me 'back in the day'. Just have to check the usual suspects. Windows power settings and RAM. Maybe there is data corruption on you're hdd and the OS just flips off..? Not too helpful, but it's a start.
