screen flickers black... weird?

hello. this happens really rarely but sometimes, my screen will go black for 2 secs then show up again. it's kind of like the moment when you install winxp and it's initializing devices and your screen goes black for a sec. i'm not sure what the problem is. could it be power suppply issue ? i've got a 350w fortron 2600+, but should be sufficient

I would guess it's more a display issue than a power supply issue. What is your desktop resolution and color depth set at?

It goes black during the install or is it going black everyone once and awhile.

not during install.. under normal operation... usually when i scroll down w/ mouse. it happens rarely tho 3x a day?

what kind of video card? Do you have the latest drivers? Have you tried lowering your resolution? Can you attach another monitor or use your monitor on another PC?

geforce4 .. it never did this until i reformatted

Please answer the questions so we may possibly help. Geforce 4 what? If you reformatted and installed a fresh copy of the OS and are already having problems, it would be my guess that you did not infact do a fresh install (or something faulty happend in the process). I would suggest that you do a fresh install after properly formatting the drive.

Geforce4 ti4200
it was a brand new hard drive, thus, it was a fresh format install of windows
