Screen Flicker

I've noticed on a number of Windows XP computers the screen will flicker occasionally for no seemingly obvious reason. It only happens once every hour or so, but it makes me wonder what's causing it. I believe I've mostly seen it in laptops. I have a Dell Inspiron 700m with the on-board graphics, and I experience this flickering. (Drivers are up to date.) I apologise if this has been asked before -- couldn't find it with a search.
