Screen flashing to black when starting video playback on X1900XT?

As the title states--when I load up or close a video file, usually a TV show I captured and converted with Divx, occasionally the screen quickly flashes black for ~0.5sec before the video starts playing. This will happen with either Windows media player, BSPlayer, or the ATI MMC. I just basically want to know if others have experienced similar things with their ATI cards. I had a X800XT PE before this and it did not have this behavior. I am assuming that this is normal behavior related to the new Avivo functions of the new X1800/X1900 architecture.
