Well I will start with my system specs:
AMD Athlon 64 3700+
-Thermalright XP-120 Heatsink w/ Fan
Asus A8N-E Mobo
1 GB OCZ Plat Rev. 1 RAM
Western Digital 250 GB HDD SATA II
BFG 6600GT Video Card
Antec TruPower 550W PSU
Microsoft Windows XP Pro
Samsung 940B w/ DVI
Well The Problem Starts whenever I am using IE, I open the Favourites bar and start doing something else and all of a suddent the screen freezes and then flashes black for <1 secound then goes back to normal. I had this problem before with both IE and Firefox(less so but still did it once in a while), my family has also had it happen when they are using word and it happens more often then not when I am typing.
So last Thursday I reformatted and reinstalled everything, all the drivers and the BIOS are updated to that date. I have now with the fresh install have had the screen flash and then once in a while freeze with only IE, not Firefox so far. It also happens when I am Exploring for All Users in the Start Menu and start organizing folders and files around.
It is driving me crazy that I can not solve this even with a full reformat. Temps are stable at idle at 29 or 30 C (for both CHipset and CPU) and voltage remains constant and 11.772 with very little fluctuation according to ASUS Probe Monitor. Also CPU sometimes spikes 20-30 percent when the screen flashes (usually when I am typing) but the spike in CPU usage does not always happen.
Another Problem: I cannot delete a USB Printer, It says permanently Printer-Deleting and never goes away, I have the printer hooks on another USB port, How can I get rid of it, I have even ended the process SpoolSV and restart comp but nothing happens. Thanks for all you help.
