I am trying to capture a couple of stills from a movie on DVD I am playing through a software-based DVD-player. I have the DVD's (own them) and I am trying to get a couple of stills, but if I use the playback software's screen capture is reduces the resolution (or quality) tremendously--presumably to discourage this kind of activity.
If I you a regular screen capture program (like SnagIt) or do a print screen, the player's window has no image. Is there a way around this? It is amusing that its easier to rip a whole movie, make demo disks, etc., but getting a still is being a PITA.
