Screen blacks out for half a second whenever a video file is executed.

Exactly as the title says. The moment a video is played, my screen goes black for half a second then returns with the video playing. It's any format, whether it's embedded video content, or a file on my hd. So, what gives?

Looks like the video card is loosing the driver.
Nvidea has been known for this. Try complete uninstall of any/all video drivers , reboot, and reinstall.
