Screen artifacts with DVI connection

I have a BFG 6800 Ultra video card connected to my Viewsonic VP201s monitor through DVI output. I'm running at 1600x1200 @60HZ, using the 67.66 drivers.

Whever I play a video (WMP10 and sometimes WINDVD 6) or just use the computer normalyy, there's random artifacts that appear on the screen (this doesn't happen in games). When I switch to the vga connection, these artifacts don't appear, they only happen with DVI. Furthermore if I output the video via DVI to my plasma (1280x1024@61hz), there is no artifacting. So this only happens on my LCD via DVI. I've also tried changing DVI cables, but that doesn't seem to be the cause of this issue.

I was previously using the 66.93 drivers with the same results. Does anyone have any insight as to why this is happening and how I can fix it? Thanks in advance.

Try a different monitor using DVI or try the monitor on a different machine using DVI, if possible. And yes, this does not belong in Highly Technical. You should try Technical Support.
