Screen Always On - iPhone 3g?

For those who have successfully activated your 3G iPhone, does your screen turn off if you just let it sit? Mine does not seem to, it'll dim but it's still on. Even in my pocket it stays on, unless I press the lock button.

I don't remember my first gen iphone doing this...

It's a setting you can change in the "General/Auto-Lock" Settings section.
