I'm using the onboard audio (Realtek ALC658C) on my MSI RS480M2-IL motherboard, and my sound is very scratchy. I can even slightly hear the hard drive under heavy load...

I'm thinking the Realtek ALC658C drivers need to be updated, but can't find any on the offical page:
http://www.realtek.com.tw/products/products1-2.aspx?modelid=2003084

anyone know where to get the latest ALC658C drivers besides what came on the CD? the CD installed drivers from 12/1/2004... surely there is something more recent than that.

It's ONBOARD audo, aka directly connected to all components of the computer. That is normal, I have the same problem with my laptop's integrated sound. Buy a sound card.
