*scratches head* I'm out of Anime Ideas

Well, I've been on a serious anime trip these past few months and have watched many things I had always intended to watch, but I think I've run out of ideas. I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions for anime? I tend to favor mecha, space, and cyber type anime, but I'll watch most anything. Favorites so far are Cowboy Bebop, all GITS, and Elfen Lied, followed by the RahXephon and NGE series.

Right now, here's my main list of what I've seen:

Cowboy Bebop
Full Metal Alchemist
Gundam Wing
RahXephon
All the Ghost in the Shell series, movies, and sequels
Crest of the Stars
Elfen Lied
Lost Universe (some)
Shingestsutan Tsukihime
Stevilla of the Universe
Tsukoyomi Moon Phase
Noein (to Vol. 4 since 5 isn't out yet)
Full Metal Panic series
Neo Genesis Evangelion
Robotech (some; though I've heard the original Macross is better)
Trigun
Ninja Scrolls
Samurai Champloo
Seven Samurai (most; intending to finish one day)
Akira
Eureka 7 (most via DVR)
Edit: Armitage Series
Edit: Inyuasha + movies

A few recommendations I've seen elsewhere on Anandtech that I'm looking in to:
Linky
Banner of the Stars (to continue the Crest series)
Vampire Hunter D
Berserk (maybe; I've got one random DVD that I got at a clearance sale, and it looked a bit interesting)
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

Update:
Gungrave
Claymore
Hellsing
Darker than Black
Bleach (later on; probably watch over time)
Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei
Go
Death Note

I couldn't get into Basilisk and Naruto. I saw a few episodes of Noir a while back on TV and it looks to have decent reviews, so I might try that. Not looking into too long of an anime series (ie Bleach, DBZ) since it's a bit of an investment, though I do hope to catch some of those one day. I was thinking of maybe looking into some of the other Gundams, but SEED looks to be a bit long. Might give it a shot. Have a DVD of the Excel Saga, but that's just weird

Anywho, figured I'd ask to see if anyone had any other suggestions. Many thanks in advance.

(as an aside, I've noticed I've missed a lot of live action movies while watching so much anime :p )

I can tell you that Gundam Seed SUCKED.

While Bleach is long (130+ episodes?), I think it's pretty good (at least the first 63 episodes).

Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei- Oh god I LOVE this anime. First Episode could have been a bit better. But episode 2 makes up for it 50 times over.

Lucky Star- Fist 6 episodes aren't great
Claymore- HOLY CRAP GREAT
Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu(The Melancholy of haruhi Suzumiya) - Watch it, now.
Deathnote- Pretty Good
Darker than Black- Very Good
Zero no Tsukaima- Decent/Entertaining.
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann- Manly Fun...literally
Hayate no Gotoku- Decent/Entertaining.
FLCL(Furi Kuri) - You dont have this?? BLASPHEMY

Try Hikaru No Go. I loved that show. A few current ones I'm watching right now are Claymore and zero no tsukima(Light Novelish if you're not into that stuff). D-Grayman is also very entertaining.

If you like Gundam Wing.... Seed is alot better in my opinion. Do not touch Destiny though as it is a rehash of Seed but worse.... It maybe long but it is ok.

Look into School Rumble if you want funny/school life/web relations.

I was going to suggest Bleach as well... AS started running the series and I have really gotten into it...

I can't believe nobody has suggested Hellsing yet, which is to this day one my favorite anime's of all time. Heck even friends of mine that aren't into Anime enjoyed the series immensely.

If you are into one-shot movie anime, I would check out the animatrix, and the Highlander (made by the same people that made the second Vampire Hunter D).

Thanks for the replies :) Time to chalk a few on the list.

I saw Claymore browsing AniDB, and it looked interesting, but I honestly forgot to look up more info on it.

Lucky Star: stumbled across this one as well on AniDB.

*looks up Furi Kuri* AH! I *HAVE* seen that one! Considering how odd it was, I'm surprised I forgot about it :p Not quite as odd as Excel, but still a bit quirky :)

Death Note: Hrm...reading up on it, I'm not sure if I'd be interested in it or not. I might see if I can find more information or borrow a disk from someone first. Ditto on Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei and Go. Premise seems interesting on those, however.

Time to update the list =P (updated in OP as well):

Banner of the Stars (to continue the Crest series)
Vampire Hunter D
Berserk (maybe; I've got one random DVD that I got at a clearance sale, and it looked a bit interesting)
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
Gungrave
Claymore
Hellsing
Darker than Black
Bleach (later on; probably watch over time)

Possibles:
Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei
Go
Death Note

Lots of thanks again. This should keep me busy for a while (hopefully).

Hehehehe I like that new series Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei. Its animation takes a different style and all the subtleties in addition to the direct humor about a very depressed guy and a hyper optimistic student of his.

Speaking of subtleties, Lucky Star is indeed a hard one to get into... and with an opening sequence like that.... Well if you stick with it, it either grows on you and the characters and interactions, or it does not. I have found myself to go back watching the first few episodes because I sort of diverted my attention elsewhere when I first watched it. But it does get a bit better.

Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi is a given.

Zero no Tsukaima is entertaining, the second season just started.

Noir is pretty good

Yakitate Japan is great.

Bleach, but kinda long with quite a bit of filler eps.

FateStay Night was pretty decent.

Berserk was excellent.

I was trying to think of the name of that earlier, but it wouldn't come to mind. I caught PA back when it first showed on Cartoon Network. It was pretty good. Thanks for the reminder :p My friend likes Excel Saga, but I can say it's not quite my cup of tea.

Ergo Proxy looks interesting. And with so many recommendations for Death Note, looks like I'll have to check that one out sooner than planned :) Heroic Age sounds familiar, but I can't seem to place it. I might have run across it in AniDB or the like. I've browsed around such sites for a bit. Anime-planet's recommendation feature came in handy.

Usually, I tend to find I either get totally hooked on the series from the first episode, or just can't seem to get into it in the least. A few, like Crest of the Stars, I'm somewhat in to, but gah, the voice acting on the dubs isn't very good. I find myself flipping back and forth between Japanese + subtitles and dubs depending on how much I'm paying attention.

Since I heard Robotech was a bit butchered, I've wanted to go back and catch the original Macross, but it'll be a while before I get around to it. I caught a partial bit of Read or Die a while ago, but not enough to really say if I liked it.

check out my "For sale" list.

Drat, you already sold Vampire Hunter D :) Saw a bit of Rurouni Kenshin, but couldn't quite get into it. Then again, it was in the middle of the series, so I probably missed quite a few things.

Thanks again for the recommendations, everyone. Compiling a list so I can keep myself busy for a while. I seem to get on these weird sprees where I do almost exclusively one thing, even if I have to shove aside something like eating or sleeping: reading a ton of books, watching a lot of movies, writing, gaming till my fingers bleed...now if I could just find a way to apply this to something useful, like my job :p
