Hi,

Im trying to re-install win 2000 pro as my current comp has been going for 24 months.

It wont install because the disc is damaged.. damn.

Anyone know if I can download an ISO image, and then use my own serial or course.

Thanks.

If you call Microsoft they will probably send you out a replacement disc for a small fee.

Is the CD just scratched?

My Windows XP Pro retail upgrade CD became scratched and would not successfuly reinstall. I bought a CD from Microsoft for $30. What they sent me was one of those CDs that has on it "Not for Retail or OEM Distribution". It worked so I did not complain.

Later I removed enough of the sratches so that the original CD is working again.

BTW, it is not a good idea to ask for a link for an illegal ISO image. Posting such a link would probably get the poster banned from this forum.

Glad that it is working for you. My advice is to make a backup copy ASAP!

TBH its the CoA thats important, not the CD

As long as your using your own legal serial key, it doesn't matter how you install the OS or where you got it.

as other have told, your key and licence is what matters, I'd make a backup of that CD asap and while you're at it slipstream the latest servicepack in it. (google slipstream windows)
