I scratched a small portion of my Battlefield 2 play disc. Would EA send me a new one or would i be able to find another solution besides getting the disc repaired. Thanks!

Saw the video, although very insightful and intuitive, not sure if it will help.... because of course i don't have any sliced dill pickles!

Would it be possible to use the EA downloader or something to download it if i provide CD Keys?

Scroll down and you'll see the disc replacement policy, it's $13. May as well buy a new copy.

LOL, F that, the hit detection glitch always made me too mad anyways. I'll stick with TF2 and COD4 and I'll be fine until the next battlefield comes out. Or, i suppose if i can find someone around here to borrow me their disc that could work. But finding someone is the problem.

Yeah, it gets about half way through the first disc installation then holds up. Its only badly scuffed/scratched in one patch on the CD. It hangs up on like the level SharqiPenninsula/server.zip or something similar to that.

i have this same problem, just get someone to host it for you, download it, and slip the file in during installation, it will skip right over the scratch.

EDIT: i mean, into the game folder as it's being installed

How and with whom did you do this before? Perhaps this could help me?

I had a PS2 disc get scratched but used toothpaste (make sure it's paste and not gel) to buff out the scratches. It looks a lot worse now but it works. If you google disc repair and toothpaste you should find the links. Just keep that as a last option before you throw the disc away.

if you have the expansion pack, you can use that as your play disc. you'll still need all discs from both sets to reinstall, obviously.

+ toothpaste method. Other than that, buy the game from somewhere that you can open, install and return.

I use a white plastic eraser. Found in any art store. Works wonders.

I just remembered i have this game installed on another old computer. I'll wait to get my external hard drive back on wednesday and copy all the files. Will the installation skip the files it finds in the Install folder?
