Scratch RAID disks & eSata Backup

Need to upgrade scratch/storage space on my workstation and DMS. Will be running RAID 0 with two disks, system drives are SSD. Workstation's biggest task is video editing while DMS will be supplying music/video to AVR (may not require speed of RAID).

I've seen Samsung F4 2TB drives suggested here but they are only 5400 RPM and assume giving up some performance to 7200 RPM.

NewEgg has an All-Star sale on HD's today but I don't see many of the drives discussed here on their roster.

2 x 1TB drives would be more than adequate but if it's the difference of $20/drive to use 2 TB then I would spend that money. Can never have enough storage if I'm not giving up performance.

I would also like a backup solution for all systems whether it be NAS or eSATA device with software running off of WS. My biggest venture into backup has been USB drives so I'm a newb (and shouldn't be!). Running the RAID 0's, I need perfect backup of media/documents/data.
