Is anybody else here a fan of scrapping metal? I heard about it on the news a few years back when people started steeling scrap copper because of the inflated prices. Then I started scrapping, and I've been hooked ever since.

Does anybody else do this? The first thing I scrapped was a bunch of older/broken computer motherboards and computers. I had pretty big stockpile of junk in my garage to go along with it to the junk yard and they gave me $300! I have been hooked ever since....

IDK, do they also give out free Ipods?

Could be a legit post...

We have some friends of the family that buy junk cars and sell them for scrap. The biggest problem is the manual labor / time involved, and the fact that you end up with a lot of junk / "hazardous" waste at the end. It's a cool side project, but not something I'd want to rely on to make money.

I've never scrapped a car before. I've mainly been sticking to computer scrap because I can get broken computers at work all the time. motherboards sell for 3.50 a pound near me, and after collecting all the fried computers people bring in after a month, thats some dough.

I also have been selling the CPU's and Ram on Ebay. If its working, then I sell it used, if its not, I sell it for "gold refining"
