Hello everyone... I have been through the wringer trying to replace my dead 6800ULTRA AGP video card. I first bought a Sapphire X1950PRO, but the experienced video noise, random blackouts, and ridiculously low framerates in WoW. I was told it was my PSU, so I bought an Enermax 1000W beast that was so huge it didn't fit in my case. For fun though I hooked it up outside the case and it didn't improve the video quality or framerates at all, so I decided to scrap the X1950PRO and try an nVidia card: an XFX 7900GS. I can't get this thing to run at all. I'm having problems even installing drivers - i get a message that the drivers for my card can't be found. I've tried the latest drivers from nVidia including beta drivers. Even running the installation disk that came with the card tells me i don't have an XFX product! I have managed to install drivers I obtained through XFX's website, but after rebooting the video is scrambled and I can't see or do anything. Ugh.
I've removed all the old drivers using Drive Cleaner. I installed fresh drivers for my motherboard. I've submitted a ticket with XFX but I'm trying to get help anywhere and anywhere I can... if anyone has any tips or pointers or ANYTHING that can help please send them my way...
Thanks everyone!
